This is designed to prepare students for State of Maine certification. It consists of 100 hours of classroom, 20 hours of lab, and 100 hours of clinical experience. The classes are held two nights and Saturday each week. Instructor will provide a schedule the 1st week of class. Upon successful completion of the classroom, laband clinical components, students will be given the State of Maine CNA competency test along with all necessary forms required to be placed on the State of Maine CNA registry.

Note: To be accepted into this course studentsmust complete an application, interview with the instructor and pass a reading comprehension test with a minimum 9th grade level.

“Pharmacology” - Medication Technician

This course teaches information about medications and their administration (under nursing supervision). Drug interactions, side effects and record keeping are an important part of this course. Equivalent of at least one year of full-time employment as a CNA required prior to acceptance. Must be currently on the Maine State CNA Registry in good standing.Students are required to have access to a (nursing) drug reference book. Most employers will have these available on site. Note: students must pass a reading comprehension test with at least a 10th grade level for entry into this course.

You can choose to study at home or come to the learning center and use our up-to-date computer labs.

We offer 360+ instructor-led online courses, from professional technical development to personal interest, through a partnership with Ed2Go. Classes are convenient and affordable. You will spend two to four hours each week completing two lessons in an interactive learning environment in which you will be able to interact with instructors and fellow students in online discussion areas.  Most courses begin near the middle of each month and last six weeks. Upon completion of a course with a passing score, you will get confirmation of completion from your learning institution. Most of these courses are 24 hours and may be used for professional CEUs or in addition to campus courses for high school completions.

Maine Guide Training Program

This course is designed to give participants an overview of those areas of knowledge they must be familiar with in order to successfully complete the State of Maine Registered Guide certification testing procedures. Some of the key areas covered include: safety, canoeing techniques, map and compass reading, hunting and fishing regulations, wildlife and plant identification, as well as general ATV, snowmobile and watercraft laws and safety. This course includes class time as well as field training and continues into spring semester. This class is offered through Tandberg sites in Fort Kent, Caribou and Madawaska.

 

 

 

 

Requirements / Prerequisites

The tests are a separate cost and are scheduled through Augusta for each classification, (5 Classifications: hunting, fishing, recreation, sea kayaking, and tidewater fishing). One does not have to take all five tests if planning to specialize in individual guiding services.

Testing & Fees:

All regular guides licenses are issued for a three year period.

3 year guide license = $81 68 year old resident = $56 69 year old resident = $29 3 year over 70 resident = FREE

The review uses the ServSafe Essentials textbook, and is structured to include the information you will need to prepare for ANSI-CFP accredited exams, and perform on the job. ServSafe training blends lecture and activities in a way that constantly engages the learner with food safety content. ServSafe training covers critical principles including personal hygiene, cross contamination, time and temperature, receiving and storage, food safety management systems, training hourly employees and more. Once students pass the examination, they are awarded the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification, whichis accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)Conference for Food Protection (CFP).

 

Each one-day review includes the examination.

A photo ID is required to take the exam. Results of the exam are posted

usually within 10 business days.
